In response to a very inspiring clamor to offer basic nursing program, a feasibility study on “The Projected College of Nursing in the Philippine Women’s Univerisy” by Anastacia Giron Tupaz was tested out. The professional nurse is capable of providing safe, humane, quality, and holistic care to individuals in varying age, gender, and health- illness status healthy or sick families population groups and community, singly or in collaboration with other health care providers to promote health, prevent illness, restore health, alleviate suffering and provide end of life care.Ĭollegiate nursing education at the Philippine Women’s University was initiated in 1950 with a post-basic course in nursing for graduates of hospital schools of nursing. The BSN program aims to develop a professional nurse who is able to assume entry level positions in healthcare facilities or community settings. The BSN Program at the Philippine Women’s University provides an intensive nursing practicum that will refine further the nursing competencies to ensure achievement of the BSN program outcomes required of an entry level nurse. Professional courses are threaded though from the first year through the last trimester with the emphasis on nursing concepts with corresponding Related Learning Experience (RLE). The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is an 8-trimester program consisting of general education and professional courses. Total development of individuals who contribute to the enrichment of cultural heritage, tradition and imbued with the value of caring, commitment, community engagement and dedication to quality healthcare services. Competent, morally upright individuals with respect for one another who are globally competitive as envisioned by the University.
